Voting
i'm not gonna tell someone not to vote, obviously do what your conscience says, but i will say that if all you do is vote, you don't have a leg to stand on when you tell anarchists and revolutionaries they're hurting people by not choosing your pick for the next mascot of empire. vote in state elections, local elections, but politics will not stop or start at the ballot. you have to organize, and you have to have something to organize for.
every 4 years since i have tuned in to the empire's politics, i have been told voting is a tactical move and yet it always gets fuckin worse. there are countless, at least thousands, for whom the dems have been a living hell regardless of the toothless good they've done on the side. point is that if your power isn't coming from the bottom, you do not have power and your president hagiography is a waste of our damn time.
the fact that project 2025 is even POSSIBLE is proof that the far-right understood the necessity of grassroots organizing and has genuinely grasped power that the left desperately has to catch up on. they didn't do it through voting, they did it through cultural and ideological work and the elections that followed are the manifestation of that work. we have to do the work to educate and demonstrate the alternative because electoralism will not save us or work for us if the base isn't there. waxing about how theoretically worse the right will be to people who are already doing really bad materially under the last "lesser of two evils" candidate (regardless that i agree with the theoretical being horribly worse) is not a compelling argument anymore, especially to those who do not have a political education and do not understand or agree that capitalism and the U.S. empire are built to work like this; that do not understand or agree that the "global conspiracy" is capitalism itself.
