Canada! Greenland! Panama! Oh My!
the ruling class has you busy memeing or rationalizing U.S. expansionism so that you don't think about how no matter what land this empire occupied next, you will still be poor and feeling lonely and paying out your ass for groceries.
my politics are if someone who benefits materially from you being an easily influenced, "company minded" wage slave (that being, any waged worker under capitalism), be they politicians, cops, landlords, CEOs or "entreprenuers," tells you they're going to help your economic standing by doing imperialism, they're your enemy and you're being played.
like this shit isn't going to happen. this is all theater so the ruling class can once again get away with not doing anything they promised you, and maybe you'll forget they promised you anything at all! it's a win for them. no matter the outcome, the working folk, who create the very wealth they sit on and waste, lose and fight amongst another under a perceived intra-class heirarchy (lower, middle, upper). do not play your masters game. kill your master.
you are actively being trained to ignore, deflect from, and normalize the violent systems, technologies, ideologies, and more that your life is increasingly relying upon — built upon the sheer convenience and our own privileged laziness. you are actively being trained to reject anything intellectual, such as education and long memory and empathy — to understand nothing, observe nothing, and not care. we, the workers of the world that make up the many folks and bands and tribes that keep these economies going, are being corralled like livestock so the rich can keep playing. and we keep voting for it in the hope that we might have some extra spending money that we'll then blow on trash from amazon or temu or shein, without thinking about the harm we're engaging in, or how our rampant consumption fails to enrich our lives in any meaningful way. i am not saying you should repent with the fervor of a priest but you shouldn't be absent of guilt when you're locked to your screen on Prime Day/Black Friday/whatever, or when you buy untold numbers of synthetic clothing that you will wear once.
i want to drive home that just because there is no ethcial consumption under capitalism doesn't mean you shouldn't put in the effort to be as responsible and ethical with your shopping and browsing and chores as you can, even if it means spending a little more and buying less. you should be buying less on principle. you should be making your own grocery lists after doing your own learning, and comparing products with your own human abilities. we each have a responsibility to each other to be stewards of this world because, besides each other, it is the only thing we have. we need the earth. we don't need computers that use more energy than entire countries and consume water resources at alarming rates.
