11/07/24 — nothing incoming is inevitable

nothing that will come out of the incoming administration is inevitable. these are not divinely ordained policies and projects. if you can only think of electoralism, think of the midterms. if you want grassroots organizing, think of community resources and education and defense. think of the countless ways in which you can resist and inspire your loved ones to resist. and have gentleness. we cannot be infighting or purity testing. we need imperfect allies and we need each other.

trust me, i'm not a shining beacon of gentleness and love. i will be, for who knows how long, feeling very vitriolic — and this is not even to speak of the emotion-without-a-form i am feeling for proud and active conservatives and republicans. it is so beyond my words that it nearly fades into the background — towards liberals and democrats and their racist and individualistic and hyper-superior posturing until i can find my goodness again. but i know i will find it, and i know this will pass, and i know we need to feel this all now so we can hit the ground running come january. you do not have to be a saint. the important lesson is that we are all being deceived by the ruling class.

ultimately, do not let yourself become apathetic. hate some guy or some movement or some post or some politic — it was white voters and the democratic party that threw away this election, if you need to know who to point fingers at — all you want in the comfort of your spaces, but never become indifferent. to become indifferent is to lose your love. turn your head from monstrosity and you open yourself to becoming monstrous.
